Tooth extractions can be necessary for many reasons. Some teeth are too diseased to save and sometimes teeth need to be removed to create more space.

We will always do a thorough examination with x-rays to determine the best course of action for you. There are two types of extractions simple vs. surgical.  Once we determine what type of extraction needs to be done we will numb the area and remove the tooth. There is usually a small amount of bleeding after so that a blood clot can form and help repair the area.

The aftercare of your mouth is important. We will go over the correct way to care for your mouth after an extraction. You could be sore for a few days as it heals. We recommend that you avoid smoking, drinking with a straw, or eating foods that may aggravate your mouth. You will still need to brush the other teeth to avoid infection.

After a tooth removal our office will call and check to make sure you are feeling ok.  There will be an emergency number you can contact if you have any questions and concerns outside our normal business hours.
